Aromatherapy Massage
What is aromatherapy Massage? Aromatherapy is a therapy using the aroma of essential oils to heal body, mind and spirit. Essential oils are the products of different parts of plants. The healing powers of plants have been recognised for thousands of years. They were used by ancient civilisations for food, healing, mood changing, religious rituals, magic, exorcism and perfume. Nowadays they are used for healing and pampering. How does aromatherapy massage work? It combines aromatic oils with massage to make full use of our most primitive senses, smell and touch. Aromatherapy works through, smell, inhalation and skin penetration, affecting our mind, memories, emotions, moods, body organs and cells. What are the benefits of aromatherapy massage? You can take time off for yourself, for relaxation, pampering, or body awareness. You may want to ease insomnia, tensions, relieve pain, and conditions such as poor circulation, menstrual or menopausal problems, depression, anxiety, migraine, tight muscles, back ache, rheumatism, arthritis, skin complaints and more. What happens during a session? In the first session, which lasts one-and-a-half hours, I start with consultation to enable me to select the oils that are most appropriate for your needs. This is followed by a one-hour massage. Subsequent sessions last one hour. A brief initial talk is followed by massage, using essential oils as appropriate at that time. What can I offer? I offer aromatherapy massage in a serene environment where professionalism, confidentiality and client care are paramount. With a blend of high quality natural, pure oils, selected specifically for your needs, I offer massage, which can help you get pampered, enhance your well being or I can be a listening ear. My aromatherapy massage can leave you feeling uplifted, calmer, peaceful, nourished and may improve your well being. Aromatherapy is a natural process, helping the body to heal itself. It is gradual, slow and requires trust and patience. I was trained to ITEC at the Abingdon College and I hold a NCFE certificate of counselling. As a member of the International Guild Professional Practitioners (IGPP) I abide by their professional code of ethics. Prices A session lasts 1 hour and costs £35. The first session takes 1 hour 30 minutes and costs £47. |
